3/27/2013 1 Comment How-To: Napkin Card![]() I love trying to use unique items when I make cards and napkins are an easy place to start. The technique is very simple, making it perfect for beginners. All you do is cut, glue and tape. No stamping, embossing or other harder techniques. It's also cost effective - a 25 pack of pretty napkins might cost $5 but because you get 4 cards from every napkin, you could make 100 cards with one package. You could use birthday napkins, wedding napkins or even floral napkins for note cards. Click "read more" to see the step-by-step instructions. ![]() You'll need:
![]() First, open the napkin up. You'll want to cut out your design - I just cut along the lines, but depending on the napkin's design you might want to cut it differently. ![]() Get your paper, glue stick and piece of napkin. Cover the paper with glue, then carefully adhere the napkin. Be sure you have the design where you want it - the napkin is fragile and will be hard to adjust. IMPORTANT: be sure to separate the napkin layers before you glue it. Otherwise the top ply - the part with the design - will float away. ![]() After you glue the napkin down, trim away some of the excess napkin. Take your double sided tape and fold the napkin over the paper, like you're wrapping a present. Be sure to pull it tight so you'll have a crisp edge. ![]() Once you've taped all of the napkin down, go ahead and tape it to your card. You're done!
